CHARACTER
CHARACTER NAME:Glenn (Last Name Uknown)
SERIES:The Walking Dead
CANON POINT: [Im taking him from the latest episode, when the farm gets overrun by a giant herd of zombies. Specifically right after they meet up again.]
LOSS: [His ability to show a visual representation of locations. An example of this would be a formal map, but he can't just take sticks and lay out where buildings are or where people need to go either. He also cannot show things on a map someone else made. This was an important part of surviving during episode 2 were he created a plan to get a bag of guns surrounded by zombies. He's just going to have to keep a mental map and verbal instructions from now on.]

ABOUT THE CHARACTER: [Glenn was a Korean-American who delivered Pizzas in Atlanta, Georgia before the dead started to walk the streets again. He has mentioned having sisters before everything, but they and the rest of his family are an unknown, and most likely did not survive or escape the city anyhow. He, however, did survive to join the small group of survivors in the mountains at the Camp, which is when we are introduced to him.
As a pizza deliverer he learned his way around the city's streets and alleys fairly well, which served after Atlanta was overrun by the undead to make him the best scavenger for the Camp. Normally he would make runs on his own, however eventually he attempted to bring a group. This failed in several ways (including leaving one of the survivors behind), but did bring back Rick.. This is important because Rick eventually became the camp leader, and Glenn seems to trust him from the beginning .
It should be noted that Glenn had the option of leaving Rick trapped in a tank, but helped the other man to escape instead. Glenn's reasoning was apparently he was enough of an optimist to think if he's
ever that far up shit creek” help would find him.
Glenn trusts everyone in the survivor group to watch his back, and he was trusted to watch theirs. He was also close friends with Dale, the owner of the RV their group used as a lookout, who taught him Vehicle repairs until his death towards the end of season 2.
Glenn ended up going back after the failed run with Daryl, Rick, and T-Dog to save the survivor they had left behind (Daryl's brother), though only reluctantly until he was reminded about the Bag of Guns left behind in the city. During this run into the city Glenn displayed some pretty awesome planning skills, and an ability to create a mental map of large areas. In the end the group managed to retrieve the guns, but the survivor had moved on from where he had been left.
The four returned to the camp being attacked by Walkers, and use the new guns to defend it. Despite saving the camp, there are heavy losses due to the fact that no one expected Walkers that far up in the mountains.
In the morning when deciding what to do with the bodies of the recently living and the undead Glenn insisted that their own people get buried, while the Walkers get burned.
After this he went with the group to the Center for Disease control. There they discovered there was no cure, though we do see Glenn both getting drunk and enjoying the hot water. It's the little things that make him happy at that point. He also has the option to “opt out” without shooting himself, and doesn't take it. Most people see this as a defining moment for the character who almost did so, and the two who decided to die there, but it was just as telling that Glenn and the others decided to escape. He definitely does not want to be dead.
The group decides to hit the road for Fort Benning, and along the way a little girl named Sophia gets lost. The group stops to find her, Glenn joining the search along with the others. They end up staying at a nearby farm, run by a man named Herschel's, where Glenn meets Maggie. Maggie and her sister, Beth, are both Herschel's daughters of whom he is rather protective. The other survivors there are not important to Glenn, really, and all of them die.
The first time they really talk he reveals he was never sure about god but had decided to pray anyways. She on the other hand had always believed in god, but was beginning to not believe so much anymore. She tells him that god isn't going to make it better, he has to on his own. Next time they talk, he asks about family members she's lost.
The two go on several runs for supplies together, (getting him laid during the first one to his surprise), as their skill sets match up a bit. On another supply run he saves her life, causing her to get extremely angry at the person who sent them on that run. She calls him “walker-bait” and says while he's a natural leader he's being treated like he's expendable.
Dale is the only person he talks to about his feelings, of the whole group. Unfortunately for Glenn, Dale didn't exactly approve of him getting laid and asked what he was thinking. The answer was simply “I was thinking I might be dead tomorrow”.
In between the two runs she offers to have sex with him again, and he discovers the nearby barn is full of Walkers. He is also told by Lauri hat she is pregnant at this point in time. He is horrible liar so he tells Dale about both things, and then reveals the barn-full of Walkers to the group, because he is afraid of it being a problem. Apparently Herschel had simply considered the Walkers sick people, and something curable. He knows that Maggie believes the same, and two of the Walkers inside are her stepmother and stepbrother. When Shane opens the door after a huge fight, and the group opens fire he looks to Maggie for permission before shooting any of the Walkers.
Also earlier when Maggie asked him not to tell, she brought food for the group (which he immediately recognizes as buying his silence, but took anyways) he shared it with the group. Not that he'd have been able to eat that much fruit on his own, but it's the thought that counts.
When Herschel goes missing, he and Rick go to town to look for the man. The two find him at a bar in town, and are attacked by a different group of survivors. Glenn helps fight them off, but during the fight when fired at he freezes. When the three return, he tells Maggie that he froze because he didn't want her to be upset if he died, and avoids her. He also doesn't move into her room when given the offer. He thinks that if he rejects Maggie, she won't be as hurt if something happens to him.
On the other hand- later Herschel gives him a heirloom pocket watch and tells him that “no man is good enough for your little girl until one is” (pretty much giving Glenn permission to have a relationship with Maggie).
One of the the attackers from the bar, Randall, hurts his leg (stabbing it on a fence-spike) and is taken by Rick to be kept in the Barn until the group decides what to do with him. At first the group sends the kid off to be released, but they figure out he may survive to tell a different, more dangerous group their location. Glenn then sides with the portion of the group saying to kill Randall instead of Dale, though he was not expected to. His reasoning is “He's not one of us”.
On Dale's death, Glenn does shed some tears, and states that he should've been on his side of the argument. The tears are for Dale, but he obviously does feel guilty about that choice.
Glenn also takes Maggie aside, telling her that he had been treating life like playing Portal (yes he plays portal. Yes I understand he won't recognize any of the characters when here), and now he'd be more serious about it. It's definitely a sign of Glenn taking less risks when fighting walkers or other people.
When Randall “escapes” he and Daryl track him down. Instead of a body, however, they find a walker, with no bites. This later causes Rick to reveal that everyone is infected- not just the dead. Glenn is one of the people upset that this was hidden from him and uses the example of the barn when saying Rick should have told everyone, for the safety of the group.
When the farm gets overrun by Walkers he and Maggie are partnered in the same car to try and stop them, her at the wheel and him riding shotgun. The two escape the farm together in that car, and when she starts to break down emotionally he switches with her- taking the wheel. Before they regroup with the others he admits he loves her.
The two rejoin the group and when it makes camp he sits with Maggie and her remaining family. Obviously at this point he's considered part of that little subgroup.
A noteable minor thing about Glenn is that no matter how much Daryl makes fun of his oriental background, he's never really reacted. The closest was when Daryl called him a “chinaman” and he said “Im Korean.” He usually laughs it off or doesn't respond, though he doesn't look too happy about it. Glenn seems to be pretty level headed when it comes to things like that.

ABILITIES: [ Fast on his feet, he can get in and out without being noticed usually. He has some experience repairing minor vehicular damage, and is a fair driver. He's pretty good with both a gun and his large knife. He's seen using other makeshift weapons though, such as baseball bats and crowbars. Necessity is the mother of invention, as they say. He can ride horses, though I don't know about if he can do it well or not.]
